7:39 (Mark's Birthday Re-Take)

Post by hayhook » Sat 26 Jan, 2008 3:50 am

Question for Mark or Tom (or anyone else with some lowdown... ben?)

So if the 7:39 track on 76:14 is a "Re-Take"
is there an "original" floating around somewhere?
and how does Mark's Birthday figure in?

The Re-Take was also remixed into the "appliance of science" mix which then eventually became the jedi's
"science friction".

Quite the history for a track. Would be interesting to know if there's more...

On a similar note, does an "Original Version" of the Jedi's "Disco Magic" exist, or is the "Secret Ingredients Mix",
from Tom's Jedi's Night Out Comp, the only version?

7:39 (Original Cassette Demo) comes on the new Transmissions Boxset, and free immediate download upon pre-order...

Mark: "7:39... That track was a weird one. We did a version of it that we put down to cassette, which we lost. So we are trying to recreate that (with the one that ended up on the album, AKA "7:39 (Mark's Birthday Re-Take)". It never sounded as good as the original demo, but nobody knows that but us. The main Juno-106 pad, we couldn’t get it the same. It’s close, but there was something about the original that was perfect in a way." - Future Music Magazine
