No probs Chuck
If Mark or Tom are reading this - I'm trying to write a project for college about how production techniques have changed over the last 10-15 years - a sort of 'then and now' comparison. Could either of you think of any examples of how you do things differently - for example the Akai samplers aren't used much anymore and have been replaced by the EXS24 in Logic - that is a good example but can you think of any others.
Thanks,
Ian

I wouldn't mind having a go but I'm into the last 6-7 months of my audio engineering course now so have got loads of coursework to do - I'm doing it part time so it's all evenings after work and weekends which doesn't leave a lot of spare time.. I could let you have a listen to what I've been working on if you're interested. I spent a lot of time recording live musicians and different types of instruments and I've mixed 4 tracks from acoustic sessions with lots of percussion, some harp, sax, clarinet, vocals, cellos, guitar and bass - these were some tracks that my mate has written for a film soundtrack. Haven't spent a lot of time with Logic yet, but I used it for a couple of projects including one about sampling so I've used the EXS24 a bit and done some arranging in Logic. I've got to make up a track for my advanced MIDI project so maybe could use that for one of the challenges in the future!?
