Hi.
Ok. Just rigged everything back up on the music making front, but was wondering if anyone could give me some pointers on parametric eq.
I have a basic understanding, but I'm stuck on a few points, they are:
I'm using Cubase 5 and it's peq is split into four parts. Does this mean I can cut off bass at the top end (part 4, where the treble is)? Are you supposed to?
Everyone keeps telling me peq is the way to go, but I also don't understand that when I adjust anything in the peq, a line appears - what should I take from the graph that's just been made?
Also, I hear all over the place about low and hi-pass shelving - can I not just increase the particular volumes of everything without having to do the whole shelving thing.
I'd really like some help with this please as it's really preventing me from making tunes - they just sound really bad with really bad eq!
Can someone even point me to a good tutorial on peq?
Cheers in advance!
