GC/ULP Podcast Special

Post by high eight » Wed 05 Apr, 2006 12:38 pm

Okay, so I know I mentioned doing my GC Special Pt 2 as a podcast only what seems like (and probably is) months ago.

All being well I'm going to be recording it over this coming weekend, and getting it uploaded and out to the interweb by the beginning of next week.

So far (in the other thread) I've had a long list of requests for stuff that I didn't do in part one, which goes something like this:

Danny Breaks - You aint down
Reload -Le Soleil Et La Mer (Black dog mix or original)
Anything off the Series 7 ep
N.Y Connection - Bless the funk (just cause i have never heard this one)
LA Synthesis - Harmonic Disassembly
Chaos & Julia Set - First Generation (The Original Raw Lab Mix)
Link - Arcadian(Mogwai remix)
Link - Avatar
Link - The Augur
Global Communication - The Way/The Deep (any version)
Palmskin Productions - The Beast (Pt 1)

The Jedi's - Disco Magic
Cosmos - Play To Win (cos I haven't heard it before)

Pulp - Party Hard (Cosmos mix)
That 'Shinkansen' tune Tom did
The Odessy one from 'The Sound Of The Cosmos'
How about the Link/Michael Jackson booty?
And then B-sides/other mixes from any of the Universal language stuff - basically anything that is bloody hard to find anywhere else!
underworld - jumbo - jedis sugar hit mix

Shown in bold is the stuff I have, although I'm trying my darndest to get hold of a few other things on this list as we speak, and hopefully in time.

If there are any more requests please post them here and I'll check back to see what else peeps want.

Thanks

Neil

Hi, Neil.
Well, I'm kinda with Chuck on this one.
I did indeed see this post when it originally got posted by yourself, but if truth be told, I had a shitload going on with my 'other life', out with reloadonline at the time.
I actually thought others would have picked-up on your offer for the second show, leaving me with a 'non-participant' with regards the post, but, things didn't quite work out like that I'm afraid, and as a result, you got left, kind of high and dry by us al on this one.
I'm sorry, Neil.
A lot of folk's have made a really cool effort to make things interesting around here. New members have contributed heaps over the last year or so, and yourself (Neil), and Mr. Hayhook are two just of the bat.
Definitely, as part of reloadonline, we should all be making a really cool effort to keep things going around here, and that also goes out to the two admins too. Where are you guys? I don't know if it's a summer thing, but the same kind of scenario happened last year. In a way however, this year is rather more questionable, as with all the new members joining (and there has been a lot of them over the last few months - excluding the dud's), it's kind of tricky, trying to fathom out in one's head, why at any given time, there's usually at least about 3 guests roaming these pages, and numerous members too, who for some reason, just always seem to look but not participate in any way around here.
It's not all about Mark & Tom; part of this website's heart is also set aside for it's members lives, as much as about the music.
Everybody wants to drop by, but no-one seems to be interested in posting, even just to say hi!
There's members on here from all walks of life, and from a lot of different corners of our globe. Why then, is there this aversion when it comes to saying hello?
Are people shy? Are people afraid of being heard? I'd really, really hope not.
None of us are perfect, and we all have something to say in this life.
But the one thing we do all have in common is a love of seriously good music.

Grab an avatar, show your face, and stand up and be heard.

It's absolutely awesome when this place is buzzing.

LIGHTEN UP !!

did I miss something?

I am PSYCHED for the next installment of the GC Podcast. the last one totally pwned.

I don't have alot in the vinyl dept. but I can contribute mp3's if needed to fill out some of the tricky hard to finds...

let me know...

i have been away for the last couple of weeks due to my pc dying and then changing to a mac. and trying to get everything to work.

it's a little quiet around here, but the folk who stop by are quality!

(only 14 voters in the polls?) grrrrr.

anywho can't wait for the next podcast... will keep my eye out.

my vote for a track in the mix would be either something from shaft's "five alive" ep or from the schizophrenia my splendid idea 12"

woot!

Hey all!

In fact I never got around to recording it when planned, and still haven't.

I still want to, and plan to but I'm MEGA busy with my own release having just come out at the moment.

I promise I will get it done, hopefully sometime in July.

Keep an eye out on here and I'll have more news soon.

Glad you guys still want to hear it.

Yeah, please, if you can, just a quick note if you get it done. You still looking for suggestions?

What's your track called, and does it belong to a lebel?

I'd love to hear it.

:D

All suggestions welcome. I've just got my hands on a few more "gaps" in my GC collection so maybe I'll be able to satisfy a few more requests.

My track is called "Rock My World" - it's my first full-vocal single. I'm not sure it would appeal to the peoples on here too much though. As much as I love Mark & Tom's music and am inspired by it, I'm not that good at making similar stuff. I guess I have my own style and am getting good at that, but it's more of a 80's-influenced breakbeat style that I have right now.

If you want to check it out you can find audio clips here on the discography page.

Jeez, by the looks of your site, I'd say you've been really really busy....
Nice track too
It reminds me of that cool mid nineties sound; Sneaker Pimps etc.
Really nice.

What Tom/Mark tracks are you on the lookout for?

Thanks for checking it out! :D

Tracks/Releases I'm actively looking for:

Harmonic 33 - Extraordinary People

EVO's 001-006 (I don't hold out much hope of getting these, and they're more from a collector's point of view - I have most of the tracks)

As One - Believer (H33 Mix)

Incognito - It Ain't Easy (Both Mark & Tom's Mixes)

Also any Amba stuff, and a few odd bits and pieces (the real nitty gritty).

MP3's are always nice to have to get to hear the tracks, but I'm also a collector, and something of a completist too (if that's a word?) so I'll still be looking out for vinyl/cd copies as well.

They would do the job for the podcast too of course ;)

Oh, and I just updated the list in the first post showing stuff that's been requested, and whether I have it or not. Just got a few more things off ebay!

Know what you mean about being a completist High Eight - I've been trying to get hold of everything I can on CD or mp3 for as long as I can remember! I've even been buying some vinyl off eBay, just to rip in to the computer and then sell on again!

Here's Extraordinary People and It Ain't Easy (Tom's one - didn't know Mark had done a mix too, another one to add to the list of searches):

and here's 2 of the Link ones and the Michael Jackson booty:

and finally 'Moonbathing' by Amba

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=1ZHSIW8U

Everyone's welcome to pinch them too of course!
