Global Communication At Lincoln Center!!!

Post by hayhook » Sat 24 Jun, 2006 9:21 pm

Okay, Maybe that isn't exactly correct. But my Extreme Action/Dance Company, STREB is performing three pieces in our upcoming Lincoln Center World Premiere, STREB vs. Gravity, to Global Communication tracks! (As well as others to tracks by Mouse on Mars, Coldcut, Prokofiev, Max Bruch, and Autechre, ReCon & Allison Cornell)

the GC Tracks are: Maiden Voyage (8:07), 9:39, and The Biosphere(GC Remix) by Reload.

WOW!

Ok. Well, I don't know what to say (and this is very rare).
I think your troupe looks really, realy cool. I love the big machine that twirls the oriental lass around at the end. I'd love a shot on that!
I found the whole thing pretty...........different; kind of abstract (if that's the proper word)?
You guys must be seriously fit. I mean, if I tackled any of those moves; man, there'd be trouble!
Good luck to each and every one of you in your show. I'm sure you guys will win hands-down, cause you're very, very unique, and that's very, very cool.

Nice selection with the music too

thanks mista

the new show includes the bounce-off-of the plexi-wall (to mouse on mars) the dodge-the-cinderblocks (to autechre) and then the center piece is the try-not-to-fall-off-of-or-get-cut-in-half-by the 16' human hamster wheel dance (to the Reload[GC Remix] track).

I was sound designer for the show, (hence the GC, Autechre, and Mouse on Mars stuff...)

A little freaking out and nervous, but psyched.

Hopefully we will be touring to Europe next year and you can check us out.

Woot originated as a hacker term for root (or administrative) access to a computer. However, with the term as coincides with the gamer term, "w00t".

"w00t" was originally an trunicated expression common among players of Dungeons and Dragons tabletop role-playing game for "Wow, loot!" Thus the term passed into the net-culture where it thrived in video game communities and lost its original meaning and is used simply as a term of excitement.

"I defeated the dark sorcerer! Woot!"

"woot! i r teh flagmastar!" (Think Tribes)

"Woot, I pwnzed this dude's boxen!'

I love it as an expression of you 'cos it merges an exclamation that sounds like pure joy, (say it out loud) with geek ebonics.

nope!

gives the 'downloading from site' status at the bottom left, then 'done' but doesn't do anything.

also tried right-clicking, but with no joy either.

sorry :?
