300

Post by Steve Sole » Thu 29 Mar, 2007 11:04 pm

Seen this twice now, and it's pretty good. Saw it the first time on a dodgy DVD and thought it was average, and I just watched it today again, but this time in the movies, with lovely Dolby sound, and I really enjoyed it. There's a shitload of blood in it, and the background to it is one of those blatantly obvious canvases for CGI, but on the whole, I thought it was rather nice. I also didn't know that they had Scottish people as the heads of their army's back then too, but you learn something new every day.
Well worth a watch, but nothing on the old Gladiator.

Yeah it's pretty good man.
I don't think it's as good as what I've been hearing from some people, but it's worth the ticket alone, just to see the really cool baddies in it - they're pretty nasty! I also got a sneak at the new Transformers movie, and that looks pretty good too; and off course.....the TURTLES are BACK!!
Do you guys have hotdogs in Sweden in the movies?

We don't have hotdogs here in Ireland, but over the water in the yoo kay, they guys have dee lic ious snacks in their movie emporiums - hotgos, natchos & both sweet and salted & butter popcorn  it's too damned good to e true!
Yup, the Turtles ar back this summer. This one looks to be ok, and I think it's gonna be a lot better than their first outing, but that wouldn't be too hard now would it  !

300 was ace.
and those men are OUT OF CONTROL
what are those, 12 packs?

very stylish. very intenese

tmnt is animated this time out and might actually be quite good, vs that humans in rubber suits they put out in the '90s (and also no vanilla ice on the soundtrack bonus)

eager for the transformers, but why the hell do aliens transform into human appliances? needs some expanining.

I just watched this again tonight, and I have to say that it's getting better and better every time.
I reckon it's now as good as Gladiator - and that's pretty good.
Top stuff!

Watch it now watch it!! WOOLEY BOOLEY!!
Yeah, three times in one week mate!!
Haven't done that in a while  !
Well, I went' round to my little brother's last night, and there was absolutely nothing worth watching on satellite, so I told him 300 was worth a watch, and we ended-up in front of it again; well, I did actually!
I think that will be the last time for me.
Definitely give it a watch - be interesting to see what you think of it.

what the...are you kidding?? 300 was friggin' terrible! I couldn't stop laughing, and I'm assuming this steroid-fueled, frat-boy, one-liner, penis-fest was not supposed to be a comedy. I loved Sin City which makes it more disappointing that Frank Miller wrote this crap. It was like watching someone else play a video game, and we all know how exciting THAT is. Slow-motion fighting, men in speedo's, screeching guitars? Am I at a Motley Crue concert? And 300 is better than Gladiator? Hmmm...that's like saying Ishtar is almost as good as Gigli, but almost, not quite, but almost. The cast of Golden Girls have more believable fight in them than these pumped up retards.
I think this movie was more of an epic and timeless battle against male-pattern baldness than anything else. These valiant warriors need to hit the propecia, not the Persians.
OK, Steve, what do you have to say to THAT, you little tool of the gods?
:P
