All time favorite track by these two
Kind of summing things up with,
Nav Katze - Crazy Dream, Reload (Retro 313 Future Memory Mix)
It's not only my favorite Mark & Tom rekkid, but also the greatest techno rekkid ever to share 'on par' with Positive Education.
Beat it ?
Try.......
I dare you !

Oldies
I was just sorting out some old stuff and came across Chaos and Julia Set: First Generation so I played it and it nearly took my head off! That is some serious shit!!
By the way if you're a fan of Global Communication, Reload, early Aphex Twin and that sort of thing, you have to get:
Aphex Twin: On (Reload mix)
The first Reload tune I bought and here I am 12 years later.. still probably my favourite

The whole of Blood Music, is just one of those very rare LP's that just change things a little bit for those who care.....
Gamma Phase is (I think) DA'BOMB, but so is Beta, and Alpha, and Delta, and Epsilon.
The 'On' mix they did for Aphex is also pretty spectacular, but (for me), it has a master, and that would be 'The Biosphere' (Global Communications Remix); musically, it just doesn't get any better than this for me.
Ahh, the memories !
PS. Where did the sample from The Biosphere come from; the one that goes (I think) "awearness, enlighenment; to which something else is lost" ? Always been really curious about that !
PPS. This is a bit daft, but who's is the stilettos on Gamma also ?

This is a difficult one isnt it?
I mean, the quality is so high throughout that to pick a favourite track is almost impossible and blasphemy to boot!
The very first track by either Tom or Mark that I heard was Beta Phase that me mate Splian put on a tape (along with some other great tunes by the likes of Speedy J, Black Dog, etc.)
I was absolutely amazed by it (and still am.)
He told me that when he was at college in Croydon a year previously the record shop he used to go to still had a copy of Chapterhouse Blood Music (with the GC CD) and I should go and get it. (Although he didnt know if it was still there - after all it was a year previous!)
Anyway I didnt go and basically forgot about it for about another year.
By this time I had got a lot more into GC, Reload, etc. and asked him on the off chance if he new if the album was still there. He got in touch with a Croydon mate who had a look and by golly it was!
So he got it for me (I owe him) and here we are...
So, my desert island tracks are:-
Beta Phase
Human Blancmange
In Mind
Strikehard
Jazz Carnival
Chicago Chicago
Le Soliel Et Le Mer
Gorecki
Isolation 1
Take Me With You
7:39
Lullaby
But that really is a struggle - Everything else is VERY close behind...

My favorite GC tracks.
This is a tough-y. I have followed these lads since the beginning. I at the time listened to everything from Industrial, Indie Rock (the original Britt stuff), ambient, house, breakbeat era, what have you.... I heard Tom's first stuff with Richard James when they did Aphex Twin projects and Mark's Roobarb and Custard tracks made their way into my early sets. After looking back the most influencial artists in the beggining were:
The Future Sound of London
The Orb
Global Communication
The Hardkiss Bros. (A bit later)
and all on James Lavelle's Mo Wax label
I have to say after all this time the only guys whom kept it real were Mark and Tom. They never disapointed me. They tried just about every type of electronic style with mad success. I couldn't settle on one track by them. My chase changes from day to day. I am always trying to work a GC track into my sets. At any given time I always have at least one of their tracks in my box. I would have to list these as my current fav's from these guys.
Jedi Knights - Air drums from outer bongolia
(I love tribal breaks)
Global Communication - the way (secret ingredients mix)
(I still play this one all the time)
Secret Ingredients - Taking over me
(great subtle acid line)
Chameleon - Just close your eyes and listen
(one of the most beautiful DnB tracks ever!)
Global Communication - Maiden Voyage (Original 8'07>5'23 version)
(I love that flute they always use)
Cosmos - Summer in space (Mark's Harmonic 33 mix)
(Not as good as their older tracks but it still finds it's way into my sets)
NY Connection - Bless the Funk
(I know it's just Mark but I Love that beat)
Global Communication - the groove (extended skit)
(It's on my voicemail currently)
Boy - In da Jungle (Modwheel Safari mix)
(Great mix from Tom, Love the chants and the brids in the Jungle)
Palm Skins Productions - The Beast (Global Communications mix)
Just a few that I have dug out of my collection lately.
peace-out

Wikked !
I've been listening to a lot of 'Remotion' over the last few days, and I can honestly say that 'Amor Real' is just absolutely breathtaking. For some strange reason, I always head back to that album; I think, because it reminds me of my mum (she always loved Natural High).
But Amor Real is just one of those tracks, that can't be done any better. I know most of their stuff falls into that category, but that one track, over the last few days, has just been doing it for me, in all of those right places.
Again, and again, and again !
Thanks guys.
P.S. Sorry about the mix-up, Mr. Kenobi, with regards 'the way'. I should listen to those Swede's a little more often.

No prob Mista Guest. I will find that track someday soon. It's really just a backup copy. Never hurts to have two. Know what I mean?
I agree Amor Real is a great track. Don't get me wrong. All of Mark and Tom's ambient/experimental techno tracks are top notch. A few years back I relistened to all of it. Reload is off tha hook. I have just been playing more house and downtempo in the late.
I guess all of us should have a list of what we listen to and what we play in a DJ set. It would be quit different I think.
Cheers,

Hey Chuck.
I have yet to hear the Bomb The Bass - Absorber (Jedi Knights Mix Pt.1).
I am sure I would like it. I will have to look for that one on mp3.
The A Man Called Adam - The Calling Music So Clear (Dub Mix) is
a great mix from Tom. Another one of my fav's. Your right there are to many to have a favorite one. Just to let you know this track was released as A Man Called Adam - Duende Dubs #2 on Other #130 1999.
I see it from time to time. I believe it was repressed a few years back as well. Good luck.
Cheers,
