ambient track im working on

Postby bumblebee.. » Tue 03 Jun, 2008 10:05 am

am trying to put this ambient track together - but am not really feeling it - will give it a go again tomorrow. Any recommendations as to what i should change? Here's the unfinished mix from last night (only the first 5 minutes are mixed):

Here's my two cents, for what they're worth:

STRINGS (not high strings, but nice mid-range strings, would just be really nice on this)

more percussions, maybe a smooth brekbeat to accompany, which comes in at about a minute and a half, and keeps dropping in and out throughout the track

finally, a little bit of variation on the guitar work, just to accompany the strings - so they maybe tell a little story together....

that's just what I would have done, but I'm sure it'll be great anyways

nice track!

dunno if i'll add strings - but more/varied beats+percussion is a good idea. Will fix the repetetive guitar - just played around with a temporary rx2 file of the 3 min. guitarsolo.

..and any remixing on any of my tracks wont happen. Lost 99% of the music I've made in the last 10 years when i dropped my external backup-HD on the floor last week. I'm almost not heartbroken anymore.

am doing my best - did a track after I lost it all - with what was left on my internal drive.
http://dubqnp.dk/audio/dubqnp-another_HD_lost.mp3

Tried saving it myself. Then got a friend to help me. And i'm oldschool. (36 years old - 10 years without computers) We spent an evening on it. But no luck. Just got a message from my old friend though - he still thinks he might be able to help me. I'm still in doubt.

I hope.
