Let's just see how this one works out Mr. Ed.
To be really, really honest, I'm a bit confused in all of this re-release thing. To me, 76:14 always sounded really good. I know there are some parties out there (obviously Tom & Mark) who'll say they wanted a much more polished master out 'again', but seeing as it's now turned into a 2 disc set, off which the second has now been re-tracked (by the looks of things), I'd think it pretty fare to assume that a 2 disc price was on the cards as well. If I'm wrong, sorry guys, but by the look of 'said' article, I'd think that, well, needs-must !
I just don't get, how it's a Globals release, but now with Chameleon stuff on it, and three Jedi tracks too. At first glance, I'd say licensing issues must have crept in, but why still the push then for the 2 discs ?
Also, why no new stuff on there either ? I'm having a hard job believing there ain't no more 'unheard' Global tracks in their vault. I wouldn't have cared less, if they'd put out a track of them whistling, just the thought of a new Global track, after all this time, would have been the icing on the cake.
I guess you just can't help being skeptical about the whole thing.
A pity really, as I don't honestly think I'll be parting my pennies on this one.

Sorry guys.

Im guessing there are no unreleased GC tracks otherwise they probably would have made the second disc.
Tom and Mark must have some old stuff but maybe its not up to quality and so dont want to release it.
If they did we would most likely slag it off and say its not as good as the classics anyway - a no win situation for them!
I dont really mind myself - am looking forward to hearing a remastered 76:14. (Got all that second disc anyway, first track listing and revised.)
Which newspaper gave it ambient album of the 90's?
Does anybody know if they are doing a follow up?
They bloody should be!

As far as eye know, it was the The Guardian that voted it tops !
Yeah, please, please don't take my last post too much to heart; if it were to slant anyones opinion ? One of the main reasons I said I wouldn't be partaking in this particular release, is primarily because I have 76:14 (two CD's, one digi, and one double LP), so there's really no need for me to go and get another copy of it. Like yourself, Mr. Matt, I've also got all the stuff, listed on both 2nd CD's, so it's pretty counter productive for myself to splash out the extra cash on them all again.
In saying that, off course, I know there will be plenty of folks out there who'll want this, just to complete their collections, but alas, I'm just not one of those parties, anymore :) .

My bad !

P.S. I reckon, also that a follow-up would just melt my little heart  .

To be honest I think it's a good thing that they reissue the albums as they are damn hard/expensive to get hold of. They may even bring their music into a wider audience.

One thing I am intrigued by is this http://www.hmv.co.uk/hmvweb/displayProd ... sku=406693
after the truly rip off white (or was it black) label that someone put out it's good that these tracks get out as it is some of the best stuff they have done. I realise some won't like house music but I am not going to get drawn into that argument...

As for Sanctuary I am unfortunately in that business that analyses that stuff, I can't give my professional opinion but it involves barge poles & not touching with...

Oh yes I forgot to mention that there seems to be a 12" release as well as the CD and vinyl:

12" tracks?

Postby kenobi » Sun 04 Sep, 2005 12:58 am

I have yet to find out if the new 76.14 remastered 12"s have the CD2 tracks Mark had mentioned. I would really like the tracks from the Kengaku EP on Vinyl.

Anyone, anyone, Buhler . . . . ?

Cd2

1 The Groove (instrumental) - Global Communication
2 The Way - Global Communication
3 The Deep - Global Communication
4 Biosphere (Global Communication Rmx)
5 Incidental Harmony - Global Communication
6 Sublime Creation - Global Communication
7 Asprin - Sensorama - Global Communication Rmx

They are all Global tracks mista guest??
Also its not been polished up, When the original album came out digital mastering technology was in its early stages. With using the skills of John dent from Loud mastering you know get a truer representation of what the music should of sounded like. The dat master sounded better that the original cd. Now its captured alot more naturally and sounds a bigger and warmer. And i was very carefull not to brighten or over limit the music and im not saying all
this to sell records and make you buy something you already have!!
If there was (new) or unreleased material that was any good we would of put it on there, theyre just isnt any unfortunately.
cheers mark

Dear Mr. Mark.

Please, have a little peak at http://www.play.com/play247.asp?pa=srmr ... tle=677592
That gives quite a different take on what CD 2 could have been like  . But I am glad, at least one of you finally got'round to telling us all, it wasn't going to be like that.
I'm actually really thrilled to see that it's not Play.com's version, but you can't blame people for discussing such sights, and forming opinions on such things either. Can you ?
You have been true to your word, Mark, and stuck to the original plan, and for that, I (personally), thank you.
It's also a person's opinion, as to whether or not they wish to part X amount of squidlies, on something they already have. The point was firmly made; that I wouldn't be "partaking in this particular purchase", as a, I have all the stuff, that's being reissued; and b, it seemed a little pointless, when there's nothing new on there !
I've been pretty carefull with this one, Mr. Mark, and tried not to rock yours, or anyone's boat about this particular release, but maybe (just maybe), I've been a little strong with my feelings on this (again), but I'm just at an age now, where re-having all the releases (remastered or not), is at the end, of a very long queue, and if there's absolutely nothing new on there either, then how can you blame me ?

Dont know why play put that list, i posted the correct list on the beginning of this thread as thats what went on the cd master. You can trust me on some info, the only thing i usually get wrong is when i estimate when a album is going to be finished or release dates!!! you can usually add 6 months to a year to what i say!! Fair enough i dont expect people to buy stuff over and over again i only wish there was some new stuff to put on it. but i do promise that after the Reload album there will be a pulusha/global esque album from me as its next on the list. Also Tom was mentioning a Amba album for next year when i saw him last week. Dont worry no boats were rocked but you definately have a boat rocking side to you but thats all good it would be boring if it was to airy fairy big ups on the site, not to say its not nice to get positive feedback :D

Thanks, Mr. Mark !

YES, anyone who knows mista guest, shall all tell you that he is partial to being a very opinionated little git sometimes; but I hope, not too much, to ever crossing his line  !
I was sitting here tonight (just finished watching For Your Eyes Only), and I couldn't help but think, just after I read your reply; "who pfecking cares if I buy 76:14 again, or not" ? Seriously, who gives a toss ?
I hope you guys sell bucket-loads of it, and I hope you use those royalties to go and make more, and more incredible music.
You and Thomas have already given me the best music of my life (well, apart from Jean Michel), so I wish you both nothing but absolute joy, in this, and every future project you both embark on.

So geddit right up'ya, and have the time of your life in Oz; and please, PLEASE, stay a little more in touch, a little more often. You're half of the reason I check this board, umpteen times a day !

Poor Chuck !

X

P.S. If you're on the east coast of Oz, and you like fish, then I HUGELY recommend a plate of Pacific Dory - yumm, yumm, yumm !

buy a copy

Postby thewalker » Tue 06 Sep, 2005 7:52 am

Do Remember mr guest, that 76.....is not a particularly easy cd to find these days. a re-release will allow peeps who have lost or had their copy stolen or damaged to replace it.

And of course we must remember that when giving gifts......the best gift of all is the gift of love. and what better way to show this than by giving such an amazing piece of music? I can assure you that this christmas several of my friends will be getting some (almost) vintage electronic ambient grooves under their tree(s).

I always try and check it when i can, been a little hectic with organising my life and selling shipping records and equipment about. Im in the country untill 3rd of october and im playing Fabric on the 1stof october room 3.
On another tip, ive just bought stanton cartridges 890fs you get 2 spherical styli's for playback or djing and 2 elliptical styli for recording records or high end playback allthough you shouldnt track the needle backwards and forwards or practice your crabbing with it. Basically the elliptical styli has a more pointed needle and reads more info out of the groove, i did some a b ing and the difference is huge, far more definition and clarity. I got mine from htfr.co.uk STANTON 890FS MP4
CARTRIDGE & STYLUS BOX SET
Bargain!!!
