Site closure

Post by ben » Sun 18 Jun, 2017 5:44 pm

Hi

I'm losing our free hosting, so looking to close the forums down soon. Tom and Mark have other internet homes now. Some options for the reload online domain:
  • Setup a blogger account to keep the domain alive
  • Setup a GitHub public page to host a static website
  • Find someone to take the existing Wordpress and phpBb forum Content
  • Redirect domain to Global Communication Facebook group
Any other suggestions before archiving this?

Thanks

Ben

Hi Ben.

Long time, sir...

Sad news on the prospect of closing down, especially if financial considerations play a part..

I for one would have no problems hosting - I have a media server on the go 24/7, so what am I looking at?

I absolutely do not want to see the site taken down.

That's a kind offer.

Current site runs both Wordpress and phpBB. So you'd need a MySQL db and PHP configured webserver.

Hello, once again, Mr. Ben!

Don't think I'm being too pushy in asking for a reply on this..
If it's a no-go, please be assured I'm ok with that, but a response really isn't too much to ask for..

There is not alot going on here these days i know, but it would be a bummer to loose all the discussions and information thats on the forum. So if Stephen's solution wont work i have an account on one.com where i have my sites. So i would be happy to host :)

So sorry for not responding Steve. I don't get notifications on here so had forgotten to check back on your kind offer. I'll package up the files and send over - assuming you are still willing?

Ben

Hi Ben.

No worries!
If Chuck is interested, he's probably better suited - if that's ok with you, Chuck.
